Inspired Outfits from A Few of My Fave Decades!

I absolutely love anything that is not apart of this decade, the fashion, the music, the television, the hair, EVERYTHING. So I decided to conjure up three outfits that, to me, are inspired by three of my favorite decades. This is my take on the styles that came about in these decades and how I modernized them slightly. Enjoy my loves and leave me a comment telling me which one is your favorite! Stay gorgeous :)

The Flashy 50s

When I put this outfit together I imagined myself on the beach during the 1950s. This romper with polka dots screamed 50s, the era when people began to break out of the norm comfort zone and show more skin. I accessorized this with a dotted headband, bright green sunnies and of course the classic oxfords and frilly socks (from topshop) combo.

"Momma, Welcome to the 60s!"

I absolutely love this 60s mod inspired outfit. The polka dot baby doll dress gives off a Twiggy vibe, and makes me want to be apart of an Austin Powers film. I paired the dress with a flowy blouse, with bellowed sleeves and a tie around the neck. Of course when you hear 60s you think of thigh highs and cat eye sunglasses. Finally, for an added touch I through on a lace headband and hologram shoes to give this outfit a psychedelic edge.

The Psychedelic 70s

Now when I hear 70s, I automatically think of festivals. Going to festivals now you would see how much of an influence the 70s still has on fashion. I went with a flowy bohemian look, with a floral crop top and lace vest. I decided to pair them with these very 70s shorts that I bought off of ebay. These shorts remind me of every pair of pants that I have seen on the Brady Bunch! To add a peace and love touch to this outfit, I wore these heart shaped sunnies from Pacsun. Finally, platforms are a must during this decade, so I kept with the bohemian theme, wearing these wooden platform sandals.

See you soon dolls!

Drugstore Beauty Haul!!

Hey loves! I kind of went makeup mad over the past couple of weeks. I just found out that my Sears, yes I said SEARS, is selling all of my favorite drugstore makeup brands for half off! 50% OFF! Now you understand my excitement. I literally bought all of these items for less than $20. I'm not sure if this deal pertains to all Sears but defo check yours' out and see!

Now I am a pretty cheap person so I fell in love with the amazingly cheap Elf products. I've been wanting to try out a matte powder for a while, so for a tester I chose Elf Matifying Powder. It does the job, getting rid of the oils on my t-zone and making me look less like a grease ball. I like to keep it in my purse because it's very compact, comes with a powder sponge, and includes a mirror! Eventually I will try a "higher in" powder (when I say higher in, I mean covergirl or maybelline haha), but for now this will do.

The next couple of items are the Milani Baked Blushers. I absolutely fell in lovvvveeee with these blushers. They are extremely pigmented and give a glow to my skin. The top color is called "Bellissimo Bronze". It's, as you can tell by the name, a bronzey color and I usually use this before putting on the actual blush. Makes me look like a golden goddess and really reflects the sun rays perfectly! The second color is called "Corallina" and again due to the clever naming process you can tell that it is a corally color. It is this gorgeous, perfect coral color that actually shows up on my skin! I have the biggest problem with blush not showing up on my skin, like my face gets hungry and just eats it. BUT this I don't have the problem at all with this blush. Matter of fact, I have to be careful with putting too much on! Like the bronzer, this color adds a glow to my skin as well with the golden flecks scattered in this product. I LOVE THEM!

This is my favorite under eye concealer thus far! It's the Instant Age Rewind, Eraser Dark Circles in the color Honey. I usually put this on underneath my foundation and it just adds such a brightness to my eyes. Seems like I have been getting beauty sleep for years. I also really enjoy the applicator! It has a twist bottom that gets soaked up in the sponge on the top. So fun! (obviously I enjoy the little things in life). The coverage works well for me, because my under eye area isn't extremely dark. I would give it about a medium coverage rating. But yea, I definitely recommend this to those who want to cover up some slight dark circles.
Foundation time! This is the Covergirl TruBlend foundation in the color "5". Unfortunately this color is slightly too dark for my skin at first, but as the day goes on I realized that it began to match my complexion. I guess that's why they call it a true blend foundation. It has nice coverage, making my red spots less noticeable, yet looking very natural. The one negative that I have about this foundation is that at the end of the day it's basically is gone.

To add to my obsessive collection of lipsticks, I bought this Revlon Creme in the color Black Cherry (477). Yes, I know this is not a summer color, BUT I couldn't pass it up. I love me some dark lipsticks! It's this gorgeous dark cherry color that has a sleek finish. I have no problems with wearing dark lipsticks in the summer :) I want more I want more!

These last two items I picked up after returning the L'Oreal True Match Lumi foundation (it was too light of a shade.) The left is an eyebrow pencil by Revlon, in the color Dark Blonde. It caught my attention because it is the Centaur of eyebrow pencils! There is half brow pencil and half brow gel. Two in one baby! Unfortunately when I removed the pencil I realized how short it actually is, so I guess I can't have my cake and eat it too. To the right is the Covergirl 3 in 1 outlast foundation. I've heard so much rave about this foundation that I needed to try it out! It apparently works as a primer, concealer and foundation. I chose the shade 860, so hopefully it fits me well. I will do a review on it to come!

Hope that you all enjoyed my beauty haul and this shows you some of the things that are on the market! Speak to you guys next time!
